ABOUT ME
Hi there! I'm Courtney (she/her)
I'm a therapist and a registered dietitian.
What does that mean exactly?
I'm a dietitian who's not going to tell you what or how much to eat, but also someone who doesn't get squirmy when emotions come up and will work with you to repair your relationship with food and your body.
AND
I'm a therapist who understands that you are a complex human being, who's mental, emotional, and spiritual health is just as important as your physical health and they all intersect.
Whether you work with me as your dietitian or your therapist, you're getting support from someone who will meet you where you're at, without judgment or shaming. Someone who is rooted in the belief that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Someone who gets that often, food isn't just food, and that how we care for our physical selves often comes at the price of our mental, emotional, and physical well being.
I operate in this world as a thin, white, cis-gendered, hetero passing, able-bodied individual. These things give me a lot of unearned privilege. While I cannot truly understand what it is like to walk the world in different shoes, please know that I do my best to be welcoming and respectful of all bodies regardless of size/shape, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, and dis/ability. I welcome all of my clients to give me feedback if/when I say things that are uninformed or clouded by my privilege. I am always learning.
